Our Certificate in Dental Radiology is suitable for all qualified Dental Nurses, Therapists, and Hygienists who are required to x-ray patients under the direction of a Dentist. In 2018, the General Dental Council introduced the enhanced CPD scheme for all Dental Professionals, including Dental Nurses.

In this course, you will learn how to take common radiographs required in a Dental Practice environment and how to use X-rays safely. The Curriculum for the Certificate in Dental Radiography is approved by the British Society of Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology (BSDMFR). It reflects the theoretical knowledge and practical skills which a Dental Nurse needs to develop when directly involved in x-raying patients and in order to comply with the legislation.

Entry requirements to book this course:

Be already qualified as a Dental Nurse, Therapist, or Dental Hygienist

Be registered with the General Dental Council

Have the support of an employing dentist to act as supervisor and validate the workplace activities for the Record of Competence

Be registered with an approved Training Provider

To achieve this qualification you will need the following

Successful completion of NEBDN Record of Competence which includes the compilation of 3x 1000-word case studies

Achieve pass mark in the NEBDN final examination
