As an oral health educator, you are responsible for informing patients about the importance and benefits of regular and correct oral healthcare. You will also teach them how to practice the correct oral hygiene methods and maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Entry requirements to book this course:
Be already qualified as a Dental Nurse
Be registered with the General Dental Council
Have the support of an employing dentist to act as supervisor and validate the workplace activities for the Record of Competence
Be registered with an approved Training Provider
To achieve this qualification you will need the following:
Successful completion of NEBDN Record of Competence which includes the compilation of an experience log,
two extended case studies (one adult, one child) which the DCP has provided an OHE session for. The recommended word count for this aspect of ROE is between 2250 and 2750 words and should include an Introduction (medical/social/dental history) and detailed method (including sections such as aims and objectives from each session, evaluation, results, and any relevant photos or diagrams used, etc)
Achieve pass mark in the NEBDN final examination
