The Level 3 CAVA Assessor Course is suitable for everyone interested in working as an assessor. For example, if you would like to work at colleges or training companies. Alternatively, this is also suitable to flexibly work self-employed as a freelancer.
This course is also useful for people interested in the education sector. For this reason, it can be combined with a teaching qualification, such as the AET Level 3.
With the Level 3 CAVA Assessor qualification, you will be able to assess learners in the workplace as well as vocational skills. You will also be able to assess knowledge and understanding in a classroom, online, or other training environments.
What you will learn on this course
As a student on the Level 3 CAVA Assessor course, you will learn about the principles and practices of assessment. Furthermore, you will also
gain the skills and competence to assess in a learning or work environment. The course was previously known as the A1 Assessor qualification.
As soon as you have completed your training you will be able to assess a variety of qualification levels. These may include awards, diplomas, or apprenticeships.

There are no specific entry requirements for this course. Although students should have a minimum Level 2 in numeracy or literacy (or equivalent). The Level 3 CAVA Assessor course is suitable for learners 18 years and above.

The course consists of three mandatory units. You are required to achieve the 15 credits from all units to be awarded the Level 3 CAVA certificate.

Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
Module 2:
Assess vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding
Module 3:
Assess occupational competence in the work environment

As part of this online course, you will receive one-to-one tutor support throughout the course duration. You will also receive live weekly online lessons with your tutor over our interactive online platform.
The course is self-paced, allowing you to decide how slow or fast you work through the units.
The guided learning hours for this course are 84 hours. We recommend allocating approximately  3-4 hours of study per week. You will have access to the course material for 6 months, which is also the time we would expect you to complete the course.
